Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 06/01/1999

Number: 1

Finally!! At 6:38 PM I spotted a very large, bright monarch nectaring on some wild phlox. I was not near enough to see the sex of the butterfly. It has been getting hotter and more humid here each day for the past 5 days. The temperature at the time of the sighting was 78 degrees, and a very warm, sometimes brisk, breeze had come up out of the SW in late afternoon.
