Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 05/30/1999

Number: 1

I found my first larvae today on milkweed plants about 6-8" high in a field. They were 1st instar larvae found on the small center leaves of the milkweed. One plant had two larvae, the other larvae were found one per plant. I also found about 100 eggs during a leisurely walk through a field. The eggs were mostly found one per plant on the underside of the leaves of the milkweed plants. It was the third warm, sunny day in a row after several cold, rainy days.
