We continue to have one or two female monarchs visiting our Asclepias curassavica plants in the backyard. From June 10 thru June 16 we brought in over 100 eggs (35 yesterday). We have not found any monarch larvae on the A. c. since the wasps ("mud daubbers" and yellow jackets) started "working" in the canopy of milkweed. We found some Asclepias fruticosa, "white swan milkweed", at a local nursery and have started several 12" plants in containers. Aphids continue to be a problem ... "multitudes" of ladybugs have begun working the A. c. Our releases of marked monarchs have dwindled to about 10 a week. Hot and humid...
