On Saturday morning, May 29, between 9-10 AM, six monarchs were seen in
Shenandoah National Park, Virginia near Big Meadows Lodge. Five of them
were seen in wooded areas laying eggs on the poke milkweed (a
shade-tolerant milkweed) and one was laying eggs on the common milkweed on
the roadside. All six appeared fresh and in good condition. No directional
flight was observed.
