I'm almost done for this year. About another year till garden will be complete.
I have for this year's water requirements:
1- A recirculating pond with a water fall. Birds love to drink and bath from at least 6 levels.
2-Water-Mister that sprays on a bare limb, excess water drips into a large bird bath.
Saw a Hummingbird use it many times. The funniest story was in early summer. Right after I put it on I had a male and female Oriole bathe together on the branch, they really looked liked they enjoyed it. To understand my excitement, I never had any Orioles come to any feeders.
New Plants-
Many new plants from New Mexico for the Hummingbirds- are many different varieties of Salvia, Agastache, Penstemon, Scarlet Hedgenettle, Zauschneria garrettii,(hummers favorite- Salvia Maraschino-Bush Salvia), Heuchera Saguinea-Firefly, Aquilegia, Zauschneria- Hummingbird Trumpet. Scarlet Sage-Salvia Coccinea, Standing Cypress-just planted for next year. More maturer plants are Monarda, Cannas bu
