Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 08/10/1999

Number: 1

It was the second day of my class studying ecosystems and we were at Litzsinger Road Ecology Center. Our class was looking at a small prairie in the morning and saw a single monarch landing and gathering nectar on the swamp milkweed plants. Later that afternoon I returned to take pictures of monarchs and spotted five monarchs around the swamp milkweed plants along the edge and in the center of the small prairie planted by the horticulturalists for studying by school groups.
