Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 08/16/1999

Number: 1

I saw a fresh monarch flying over a grass field next to a junior
college just after 5PM this afternoon. It was heading west and about 6 feet above ground. Temps were in the 90's with clear skies, low humidity and light east winds. The weather has been extremely dry and hot during the past month. Morning lows the last few days have been in the 60's. Cool compared to last weeks lows around 80. This is the second monarch I have seen since I was in Wisconsin in mid July. I will keep watching
for monarchs
