Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 09/13/1999

Number: 1

We were in the middle of our spelling test and we saw the monarch larva turning into a chrysalis. The chrysalis formed fast. The larva was squeezing itself inside the chrysalis. When the chrysalis was forming it pushed the skin off. Another larva fell into the dirt and then formed a chrysalis lying down. We wonder if this chysalis will survive.

We found three more larvae in our school garden.
