Signs of Fall

Date: 09/15/1999

Number: 1

Monarchs are here at least ten months a year so it is difficult to distinguish migrants from locals.
Birds are more notable moving through in fall. Female Summer Tanager sighted flycatching in our yard this week. Also two hard to ID Fall Warblers - they were drab brown, a little darker up top and acting like wrens in our shrubs. I can't ID. Any warbler experts care to guess?
Also our local Blue Jays are radiant in their new Fall plumage.
