Observed a hummingbird feeding on a "hummingbird plant" at approximatley 6:15 P.M. today. There were many other birds in the surrounding trees and after waiting for an hour there were still no other sightings of hummingbirds.

On my citrus tree, there are 4 large swallowtail caterpillars in various stages of maturity. This is the first appearance of the caterpillars that I have observed. The plant was out all summer. There were many sightings of mature swallowtails flying in and out of the garden area but never any caterpillars sighted.
Also, I have observed an increased population of small moths of varying types feeding on yellow lantana in the early evenings. Each week the population seems to increase.
