Mrs. Frederick's 2nd graders released 25 monarchs on Wed. Sept.22, 1999. These monarchs had been raised from tiny caterpillars in a classroom setting. They were tagged, and sent into strong winds from the south of about 10-15 mph. We hope they find their way to Mexico. We say good-bye to our butterfly kings and queens.
