The sun finally came out today after being overcast for several days. In one area of my garden, approx. 15x15, there were 25 Monarch's. With many species of plants still in full bloom, they were showing a preference for Salvia Uliginosa. The competition was fierce and comical. The Hummer's wanted this plant also. In the past, I have observed a Hummingbird chasing a Monarch, and in turn, the Monarch chase the Hummingbird. Several other species of Butterflies were in this area also. Plants of 2nd and 3rd choice were Lantana montevidensis and L. radiation.
