Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 10/06/1999

Number: 1

Yesterday and today (October 5 & 6, 1999) the Monarchs have been on the move again here locally. I assume that these represent individuals which emerged later in the season. We have had several very cool mornings, but the daytime temperatures have been moving into the lower 70's which is ideal for migration. All of the individuals moving through look very fresh. I saw several this morning which appeared to be coming off a roost area in some
trees. They immediately began moving south. I have also had a steady stream of individuals passing by my window this morning moving to the south.
