We have planted a garden at our shcool. This garden has plants that attract the Monarch Butterfly. The butterflies especially like the Liatris. The other flowers that attract butterflies are: Butterfly Weed, Heath Aster, Purple coneflower, Meadow Blazing Star, Wild Bergamot, Black-eyed Susan, White Upland Aster, and Columbine. Our classroom has a window where we can look out and see the garden, it is beautiful! Many classrooms have worked in the garden weeding, planting and watering. We released our Monarchs into the garden this Fall so they can fly to Mexico.
