I live in Friendswood, TX which is about half way between Houston and Galveston. I have an influx of Black-Chinned hummers in my back yard. They started coming in when the Ruby Throats came in. The hummers keep coming until about the first week of November. What is unusual is the Black - Chins and the numbers I have seen. I usually get a couple of black chins and a Buff- Bellie each Fall, but the numbers have been much greater this year. I
still have at least 10 Black-Chins in my yard today, and two Buff-Bellies. The Ruby Throats are mostly juveniles.
