Students in Caddo Hills Elementary Gifted Education program have been studying Monarchs and migration. These are some of their recent observations...(Lucas Markham, 6th grade): I was up on my farm where there are a lot of those plants (tall thoroughwort) and I saw about 7 Monarchs going south at a speed of about 10 miles an hour. I tried to catch one for tagging, but they got away when they flew up too high. It was a neat sight to see, one
of the most beautiful butterflies in the world." (Marissa Reynolds, 4th grade): "At my house in Black Springs, about 7:55 pm I saw three Monarchs flying around some trees."
