Tulips PLANTED

Date: 10/07/1999

Number: 1

Our fourth grade class had a great day for planting. It was only 50 degrees at 9 am when we weighed and measured our bulbs but the temp spiked to 78 in the afternoon when we dug our 7 inches down! Unseasonably warm for October here...hope our bulbs aren't fooled by that! Our campus is under construction in many places and we are getting a good look at the soil way down deep. We also have a number of experimental sites going along with our control group for Journey North. We got .23 inches of rain the day after planting so all systems are go for our bulbs! They are predicting a colder and snowier winter than last year so we are looking forward to comparing last year's garden data with this one. Can't wait til spring!
