Tulips PLANTED

Date: 10/22/1999

Number: 1

The second graders planted 25 Red Emperors on Friday the 22 under cloudy skies and warm temperatures. In the process they discovered hundreds of earthworms and a great many bettle grubs as well. Several earthworms were taken inside for study before being returned to work in the garden. We have not yet had a hard frost, though a light one on Oct. 6 finished off the gourds and pumpkins and dahlias.
