Practice Report (Any Species)

Date: 11/05/1999

Number: 1

Species : American Crow ( Corvus corax ) Large bands of crows moving into Monterrey area from the north. Cold front incoming into area at same time. Sightings from mid-morning until this mid-afternoon, several bands with no less than 10 members each. First sightings of the season , that we know of.

Seems that the first bands had the larger individuals ( as trailblazaers ??) Day is windy from N and NE , about 20 to 30 MPH , open skies with scattered clouds.
Usually this large bands spend winter in the vecinity of Monterrey, we see them moving early in the morning and back to roost areas in late afternoon. This is their typical behaviour from now to around mid-march.
