Yesterday, November 6, my husband and I went out to go for a walk in the
late afternoon and scared up a Monarch nectaring on my Pentas in my
garden. I saw no tags, it was in excellent "mint" condition. It did
not stay still enough or open its wings for me to determine gender. When
we returned at 5:35 pm from our walk of about 20 to 25 minutes length, it
was still there, nectaring on Pentas. Once we passed it to go inside the
house, it flew off around the corner of the building, heading west to
get to the corner and turn southerly. Weather was sunny, clear, in the
60s, calm winds. My home is in Newport News, zip code 23608.
