Tulips PLANTED

Date: 11/12/1999

Number: 1

We have planted 18 Red Emperor tulip bulbs on an almost balmy November day. High 70's in November in St. Louis are not the usual fare! They are planted in an area with a marker dedicated to a student who lost her life several years ago, so this is a special place for us. It is visible from our science classroom window. We will watch and compare notes wih the class from our school which planted tulips last year. We wonder what effects the unusually warm, long Autumn weather will have on our tulips' growth. We also planted other varieties of tulips and daffodils in another area on the school grounds today, so we are looking forward to a beautiful, colorful spring in 2000.
