While camping(for deer season)in munith mi.just west of jackson
we observed several flights of sandhill cranes overhead.We had heard them before but not like this. we jumped in the van and
drove around to the sight of all the noise on the ground.what we found was a sanctuary,mostly mud flats with some water.On these mud flats we observed an estimated 4-5,000 sandhills with more coming in constantly.we shot pictures till we ran out of film.
watching them land is like watching fighter planes land on the deck of a carrier. Everyone should experience this sight!
