Tulips PLANTED

Date: 11/24/1999

Number: 1

We planted our tulips at the entrance to our newly developed wildlife garden that is an official site for the Journey North's Unpave the Way for Wildlife Project!! The weather here in southern NJ has been very fickle--cold and blustery one day and warm and spring-like the next. We are near the ocean (45 miles), so our land temperatures have not been very cold yet. Our class feels this geographic location may have an effect on our tulips sprouting...after all the ocean temperature here is still in the mid 50's!!(Global Warming??!!)
We enjoy this project very much and look forward to another exciting year of predicting springtime's arrival!
