The 24 first graders at Spring Valley School each planted a tulip out in front of the school on October 27. These are in a bed next to the ones planted by last year's first grade class. This year the soil was dry, making for less of a mess. (Last year there was a lot of rain, so we had to plant tulips in mud!) We marked each tulip with a craft stick labeled with the name of the child that planted it. We had a few extras, making 30 bulbs in all. We are looking forward to comparing the growth of the year old bulbs with the new ones.
