Signs of Fall

Date: 12/12/1999

Number: 1

on a dark overcast day, no sun, low clouds. we saw large flocks of white sea birds gliding above the town. they had long narrow wings, short tails and did not flap the wings like gulls, very big. we have never seen these birds before. we are 12 miles from gulf of mexico. it was 12 noon.later at 4pm they were gone. the way they flew reminded me of the large birds of prey. no flapping just gliding. I looked them up in bird books they look like the albatross family.
