We have planted 18 Red Emperor Tulips in a bed together at the end
of the sidewalk. The bed measures 3'x3'. We planted the Red Emperor
Tulips in four rows of four and two more at the back of the bed. Because
the plot needed a lot of work to prepare for the bulbs, we did not plat
them until December 1, 1999. The fall in St. Louis has been exceptionally
warm. Therefore, one of our goals is to compare this spring's bloom with
previous springs in the area.
