I was very surprised to look out my window this very frosty, snow covered January morning and see two very plump robins in a nearby pin oak. A short while later, I was amazed to discover 60 of them eagerly gobbling frozen berries from a neighbor's tree by the road. Each time a car passed they would startle, take flight over my house and light in holly bushes in my back yard only to return to their berry feast across the street when they deemed it once again to be safe. All were obviously well fed; however, with the sub zero temperatures we are expecting, I worry about their survival. This is the first time in the 29 years we have lived in Malvern that I have seen such a sight in January.
