Robin (First SEEN)

Date: 02/08/2000

Number: 1

Seventeen robins were perched on either side of a road which skirts a wooded swamp. Some were perched high in trees. Others perched in multiflora rose bushes next to a running stream. The rose bushes still contain hips. The ground is covered with over a foot of snow and the water in the swamp is frozen. The stream is the only open water in the area. As I walked past, the robins flew off towards a meadow which contains more hip covered rose bushes and a stand of sumac which still has berries.
