I don't know if this is a sign of spring, but I saw two Bluejays
in my yard, and one was eating a chestnut. They flew away before I saw them closly. Then, on 2/9/00, I saw one eating something. It didn't notice me for a long time so I was able to get a really good look at it. I could even see its sharp beak and its food in its mouth through my binoculars. Its call is a really loud shrieking noise. Finally it flew away and dashed into a bush.
