Purple Martin Scouts first sighted Friday,Feb.4,2000. Opened the birdhouses Feb.l0, as we saw more. Feb.l9, the pairs started to word on the nests. Today is Feb.26 and we have about 20 pair so far at the houses. Its wonderful to stand outside listening to their chatter and watching their aerial antics. We have been doing this since l98l, and this year we've got to add more houses for them. The coming of the purple martins for us is a sure sign of spring. The bluebirds should be coming any day now, then the hummingbirds. Can hardly wait.
