Observed three male red winged blackbirds about a mile from my home. They were perched on a power line about 5 p.m. After seeing them, my husband and I drove around our neighborhood and saw between 12-15 within about two miles of our home.
On 2-28 observed our first red winged blackbird on our property.
According to my personal records from the past five years this is early for the red winged blackbirds. We have no snow cover after a rainstorm last week.
