Robin (First HEARD singing)

Date: 02/29/2000

Number: 1

On Tuesday, we heard the settled robin song, that peaceful tune the males make when they arrive home and are establishing territories. We have not yet seen waves of robins coming in all at once, but notice more and more individuals around. In the morning, our school grounds grow increasingly rich with bird song all around. We have to listen carefully to hear the few robins singing. Just for a note: sandhill cranes have arrived, bluebirds have arrived, and one turkey vulture was sighted.
