Tulips EMERGED

Date: 02/22/2000

Number: 1

We were surprised to see the tulips peeking out of the ground. We have had a lot of snow and cold weather here in NJ this winter and the ground had remained snow covered for about two weeks. Almost as soon as the snow melted and warmer temperatures returned, it seemed our tulips '''felt it was safe" to emerge! This date of 2/23 is almost a month later than last year...the year of El Nino!
