Tulips EMERGED

Date: 03/08/2000

Number: 1

On Wednesday, March 8, 2000, our tulips emerged! This was many weeks earlier than normal. Our weather had been sunny, windy and in the 70's. Most of the snow was melted and just a few patches of snow remained in the woods. We were wearing shorts and riding our bicycles.
Thursday, March 9, 2000, was a day to close the curtains and eat vast amounts of chocolate! We awoke to a blizzard which eventually dumped 8 to 10 inches of snow on our area.Temperatures in the teens and twenties. Typical March weather for our area, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
At least our tulips are covered and protected from the snow!
