All Other Signs of Spring

The nest contains one baby, the 2nd baby was "lost" around
3-8-00. The baby in the nest has been seen flapping its wings and the mother is not feeding as often. The fledgling should leave the nest by 3-22-00. I currently have 6 feeders up around my yard and have bought 3 Cape Honeysuckle, 2 Red Salvia (sage), 2 Columbine, 2 Hibiscus - 1 Red and 1 Hybrid Red, 1 Azalea, 1 Red Lantana and 1 Fuschia. The mom loves these and has been seen getting the nectar from the Lantana, Honeysuckle, Salvia and Hibiscus. It will be a sad thing when the baby leaves, but this baby should have a brood in the near future, on my property. She has also been seen bathing in the mini mister that I put up in my tangelo tree and drinking water from a fan sprayer, going to the birdbath and drinking out of the sprinkler. Hummingbirds are magnificent birds and I hope to attract more of them throughout the year.
