We traveled 150 miles to the northwest of Port Lavaca today
along "old" highways and FM roads to San Marcos and back:
11 monarchs seen crossing in front of us along highways moving
generally from SSW to NNE ... 10 am to 6 pm ... headings
would be difficult without the book of "Detailed Maps" ...
16 monarchs seen in pasture between 1 pm and 2 pm ... again
moving generally from SSW to NNE ... one male observed
up close and three females depositing eggs.(Using Gonzales, TX as midway point of 150 mile route.)
