I saw my first monarchs of the year in southeast Arkansas. The first two were females laying eggs on some sprouts of _Asclepias curassavica_ arouns noon. This afternoon I captured two males and three females at 3:00, again on _A.c._, and brought them in the lab to have them lay some eggs. Within 5 minutes one of the males had coupled with one of the females.
