Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 03/24/2000

Number: 1

Contributed by Monarch Watch

I was out in the field today for several hours and saw -- at the very least -- 50+ monarchs. They seemed to be everywhere. After several days of cloudy/rainy weather, the sun came out and temps were in the low 80's. Females were seen ovipositing and males doing their typical patroling, low and fast, over the fields. Monarchs were even very easy to see while driving around town, flying high over the streets and trees. Spring is
definitely here!
