Saw my first Monarch of Spring on Friday in Oklahoma City. After
several days of clouds and rain it was a welcome sight on the southerly breeze. Saturday, at Camp George Thomas, B.S.A. near the Wichita Mountains North of Lawton, OK, I saw several faded females as they nectared on the wildflowers and flew along the creek and among the trees of the Scout camp. I saw no milkweed, but the butterflies seemed none too rushed as they glided among the oaks and fed on the flowers. All were very faded and worn.
