Last fall we planted about 175 bulbs in our school wide project. We checked the Journey North website and watched the reports of tulips blooming in Florida and California. After patiently watching our tulips emerge and slowly grow, on March 24, 2000, our weather turned quite warm and our first tulips bloomed. We had fun watching them. Now we have many tulips open in an exciting display of red blossoms. In the morning they are tight buds but as the sun shines on them, they open wide.
