Tulips EMERGED

Date: 04/01/2000

Number: 1

This is no April Fool's joke! As it was during our school spring break, several students were assigned to keep watch over our tulip garden while school was out! When we arrived back today, students excitedly reported that seven of our 35 Red Emperor tulips had emerged on April 1 !! Only last week, there was still snow blanketing our garden, but with warm chinook winds coming over the Rocky Mountains, the ground snow quickly disappeared and gradually the warm earth has encouraged our tulips to emerge! We look forward to reporting the blooming dates and we'll keep you posted! Finally spring has arrived in Calgary, Alberta, Canada!
