Mrs. Coats's special tree observation group (6 third grade students from Ms. McAuley's class) has been watching a dogwood tree on Merrrick-Moore Elem. School's property since late February. We checked our tree almost every Friday at about 12:15pm. Today, April 7, 2000 at 12:30PM we found that the leaves on our dogwood tree were finally the size of a quarter. We observed that our tree seemed to be a "late bloomer" because it does not get sunshine until about 12:30pm each day.
