Female monarch (maybe more than one--saw several times in course of a few hours) seen working large field, looking for milkweed. Not migrating, but going back and forth over field, close to ground. Warm, mid-60s, sunny, mid-day, light breeze. Also seen by someone else the next day. Temperature has since dropped dramatically, NW wind. (I'm no longer in Brasstown, but here in Bakersville, where I live, it's SNOWING (flurrying, but coating wooden and stone surfaces).
