Reported first monarch 4/9 from Carolina Beach, and also I did see at least one monarch earlier....I regret that I cannot be more
specific as to the exact date, but it was certainly during the last two weeks
of March...and I would like to say around March 20. I recall that I was
stopping by my house (Carolina Beach, NC) momentarily and I startled the
monarch into flight. It must have been basking in a nearby sunny spot. I was quite surprised because normally I do not count on seeing them until
April. It struck me as much earlier than usual. Again, I am sorry that I
cannot be more accurate..I know this information is important! I have been
unusually busy the past few weeks traveling in my work.
