Loon (FIRST sighted)

Date: 04/13/2000

Number: 1

One lone loon was sighted on 4/13/00. We actually heard him the day before, but the sighting wasn't confirmed until the next morning. He has been on the lake ever since. We can watch him from our kitchen window. He has been alone. He likes to chase away all the ducks and geese from the north end of Seeley Lake.
He is always in front of our home in the morning and the evening, but he leaves during the day. The eagles nesting on the opposite side of the lake from us sometimes bother him. We think their chicks have hatched, so now they bother him even more.
