Hummingbird, Ruby-throated (FIRST)

Date: 05/04/2000

Number: 1

I place my Humming Bird Feeder out on April 15th each year. The last two weeks of April were rainy, cloudy and unseasonably cold.
The weathe changed this week to sunny in the mid 60's.
This mourning at exactly 8:00 a.m. I saw my first Ruby Throated Humming Bird perched on the feeder. It was a Male.
As I the feeder I have is calibrated I checked closely and it was down about 1/3 from the full level. I suspect the bird (s) may have arrived a day or two earlier based upon the amount of surgar water depleted.
