Date: 04/30/2000

Number: 1

Contributed by Monarch Watch

Saturday, April 30, 2000, a lone monarch was seen on Kelleys Island, Ohio, checking out the lilac blossoms. It stayed about 15 feet high while it flitted about fast enough that its sex could not be determined. Kelleys is in the western Lake Erie basin south of Pelee Island, a great jumping off point during fall migration.
