We have a spring-fed 4-acre lake north of our home, which is 5 miles southwest of Frederick, OK. On the morning of April 1, 2000, we noticed 12 birds swimming on our lake. Usually we get Canadian geese and mallard ducks, so you can imagine our surprise when we realized they were loons! They stayed 2 days and then the bulk of them left, but 3 remained behind for 3 weeks. I haven't seen them for the past two days, so I believe they have conntinued on their journey.
