I searched about 40 Common Milkweed plants at Pine Spur Overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway and found 16 Monarch Caterpillars ranging from very tiny to about "half grown". A species of earwig was also eating the very newest leaves and some flower buds that were just beginning to form.
