I spotted my first monarch near Dalton, MN (about 70 miles southeast of Fargo, ND) today. I'm not sure of the sex, but would guess female by the way it seemed to be searching for milkweed (slowly flying back and forth near the ground on a 20 foot wide strip of grass).
